“For Dad, before and after he and Mum married, it was his ‘home’ on and off for several years, and for Mum the Nurses Home was her ‘home’ for the time she worked at Pukeora. She became very adept at riding her bicycle into town and back!! The view was one that Dad never tired of during the many months he was confined to the open air rooms overlooking the Ruahine Ranges and up the Ruataniwha Plains.”
